Pierce Marratto

Pierce Marratto is an IMA-Nominated, Pittsburgh based, artist who grew up involved in various art/street art, music, and action sports community...all of which instilled a strong DIY ethos.

At age 18 he moved to Miami to study Fine Art Photography. In Miami he founded the Luminos Collective, an art collective focused around the group of Miami artists that he was involved with. Through this he developed many of his ideas on how to use art and music (and the interaction of the two) to grow a community. The collective was featured in Miami’s infamous Art Basel Festival in both 2007 and 2008 in addition to hosting a variety of its own Art/Music events. After a few more years in Miami, Pierce decided it was time to bring this knowledge back to his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA.

Once he was back in Pittsburgh, he took part in founding a hub for local creatives called Touchfaster which offered a range of creative services, marketing/talent management, hosted art/music events, and generally did anything possible to strengthen the creative community in the area.

A number of the Touchfaster events were at The Rex Theater which allowed Pierce to become acquainted with the Grey Area Productions crew -- Grey Area is an independent concert production company in Pittsburgh based out of The Rex -- In 2014, the role of Graphic Designer/Webmaster became open there. Being that the Grey Area crew and Pierce were very like minded in just about every way, they offered the position to him. He of course accepted and still works with Grey Area to this day.

In addition to his concert production work, he continues to pursue a freelance illustration, design, fine art, & photography career with a client list that includes Grammy winners, a range of businesses, galleries and studios in Miami & Pittsburgh, and a host of local/regional/national/international artists.
